Tasting "5ive Russians" Chardonnay

An example of California Chardonnay. Rich and creamy but, on the other hand, not buttery, which is often not the case with California style Chardonnay. Here, a slightly sweeter attack than Old World chardonnay style (DRY on 5). A mouth-filling sensation means a fuller body (BODY on 5).

The wine is mostly matured in a stainless steel tank, and for a bit in an oak barrel, but here we did not get the oaky flavors. Probably because of the usage of neutral or old oak. The OAKY factor is set on 0.

Russian River Valley is an AVA of the Sonoma County in California. The area is influenced by the cooling effect of the fog generated from its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. This proximity makes the place suitable for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. However, the climate remains Mediterranean, meaning warm throughout the year. Cooler climates usually showcase more acidity on the wines, here the acidity is clearly on the lower side. That is why it is set on 2.
