What are wine aromas?
What are the 2 categories of aromas in wine?
Can wine be fruity?
Can wine be floral or Herbal?
Wine Aromas are composed in 2 main categories: The Aromas and the Bouquet.
The Aromas refer to the primary Aromas which are directly related to the grape itself.
These aromas are usually spread into 4 categories:
Fruity, Flowery, Herbal and Mineral.
The bouquet refers to the secondary and tertiary aromas.
The secondary aromas are related to the winemaking process.
There are 3 main origins : from Malolactic fermentation, from yeast and finally from the barrel. The tertiary aromas are related to the aging of the wine.
We recommend using a wine aroma wheel to have more details on the different aromas..
